The Gauchia Committee has buried the unclaimed body at Anwara

Members of the Karnafuli Gauchia Committee have buried the body of an unidentified man (70) at Anwara in Chittagong.

On Saturday (July 10) at around 10 pm, the local UP member Md. Saddam Hussein called 999. Later, Anwara police and members of the Karnafuli Gauchia Committee's funeral team recovered his body.

The unclaimed body was buried at the Chittagong Public Cemetery at around 2.30 pm.

Local UP member. Saddam Hussein said the man, who had been mentally handicapped for the past month and a half, had been living under a passenger camp. On Saturday, the locals found the man unconscious and gave him first aid. Later, when the man died at 10 pm, I called 999.

Officer-in-charge of Anwara Police Station SM Didarul Islam Sikder said locals confirmed that the deceased was mentally handicapped. No one knows his identity. The man was buried as an unclaimed body by members of the Karnafuli Gauchia Committee's burial team.
