Journalist Tanvir Hasan Tanu was admitted to the hospital after his arrest

Police have arrested a journalist in Thakurgaon, a northern district of Bangladesh, on Saturday night in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

Thakurgaon District Representative Tanvir Hasan Tanur of Daily Ittefaq and Independent Television has been accused of "defaming" the hospital by filing a "false and baseless" report on the quality of food provided to Corona patients at Sadar Hospital.

Police say he fell ill after his arrest and was admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital.
