A child named Mohammad Mursalin (5) drowned in a pond in Anwara, Chittagong. The incident took place at Tekota village in Haildhar union of the upazila on Wednesday (August 25) afternoon. The deceased was identified as Mursalin, son of Mohammad Sumon and grandson of Sona Mia Chowdhury. The loss of Mursalin casts a shadow of mourning over the area.
According to family sources, the neighbor goes to play with the children. At one stage of the search, the child was found in a pond at the back of the house and taken to Anwara Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty declared the child dead.
Mohammad Emran, a doctor on duty at Anwara Upazila Health Complex, said
a child who had drowned in a pond was brought from Tekota village in the evening . But the baby died before it could be brought here.
